The source of Chelsea’s woes are not far-fetched since Mourinho concerned himself with witch-hunting and petty dealings at the club he superintends over.
The season has gone from bad to worse for Mourinho after Chelsea were defeated for the ninth time in the Premier League this season – Chelsea are currently wallowing one point above relegation zone in 16th position of the League log.
The competence of Mourinho has never being in doubt but the recent shambolic display of Chelsea leaves so much to be desired. They were outplayed and outscored by Leicester City last night.
Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that the initial plan for Abramovich was to keep Mourinho for long-term but said the Supremo of Chelsea must be contemplating the sack of the Portuguese given the recent happenings.
About the probable sack of Mourinho, Lampard said:
“He’s probably looking at it very closely. Obviously we’ve been here before with Chelsea when managers change midway through the season.’
However, Lampard was still wary of countlessly changing managers as he believes that might not be the solution. After the first reign of Mourinho as coach of Chelsea, the Blues have had up to seven different managers.
‘I don’t know how many times you can do that. We had some good results from doing it before but we had a different set of players at that point,’ he added.
It seem Mourinho has lost the dressing room or something is really wrong somewhere. However, the sack of Mourinho might not be the solution to the problem.
