The transfer window comes with its many shenanigans but we just have to take some of these rumours with some sizeable amount of salt, in accordance with the doctor’s prescription, of course.
This time they report that Pep Guardiola has ordered his agent Josep Maria Orobitg to secure the transfer of Alexis Sanchez to his next club, the Metro reports.
They quote Spanish source Don Balon who say that Sanchez could make a move to Manchester City who are widely reported to be the Spanish tactician’s next destination.
It was earlier reported that one of the conditions he laid down before he agrees a move to Etihad is that he will have a leeway as regards the players he would work with.
This is quite laughable since the rumor ignores the transfer protocols that exist. One is that Orobitg is not Sanchez’s manager and another is that the player still has over two years left in his current contract.
Wenger has stated that contract talks with the player will commence once the transfer window and that has to be done before this spurious report linking the player out of the club turns out to be true.
Meanwhile, Wenger has revealed that the player will still remain out for few days. There is a probability of him playing against Liverpool but the best bet should be against Stoke City later this month.
