Arsenal have been boosted in the race for a reported target ahead of a supposed move.
The Gunners have been continually linked with Giannelli Imbula, right from his days at Marseille and it seems that the tide are about to turn their way.
The player’s agent Willy Ndangi has fuelled rumors of an impending move for his client, stating that Porto are now ready to sell the player.
The 23-year-old joined the Portuguese in the summer of 2015 but has failed to convince his manager that he could cut the mustard in the team and they are now prepared to offload him in this January transfer window.
Via the Express, Ndangi was quoted as saying.
“We know that Porto want to sell Giannelli,” he toldCalciomercato.it.
“At the moment we haven’t had any contact with other clubs. “But we could talk to some sides starting from Monday.”
Mohamed Elneny’s transfer to Arsenal is set to be announced this week. However, it is widely reported that another midfielder could join the club.
Aldrien Rabiot is reported to be set for a loan move to the Emirates stadium. However, with the likes of Tomas Rosicky and Flamini’s almost at the twilight of their Arsenal career, a player of Imbula’s quality is also needed.
