Arsenal and Hull City have agreed the deal that would see Isaac Hayden return to the Emirates stadium in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old was sent on a season-long loan to the championship side but has seen his stay with them cut short. it is reported that he will return back to the club after the Champions game against QPR.

According to ClubCall, Hull manager Steve Bruce decided to sanction the move since the competition for places in the midfield meant the player would be handed a sparing role, Hence, their decision to let him go when Arsenal came calling.

The Gunners are short in midfield and despite the reported recruitment of Mohamed Elneny, there is need to have a defensive midfielder in the squad.

Calum Chambers played as the DM in the game against Bournemouth but the fans are still eager for Wenger to recruit a player in the much coveted position. It seems their prayers have been answered (Hayden) but Wenger’s antecedents suggest that they are not to expect a new player in that position this season.

Chuba Akpom, who also joined Hull in the summer, will not return to the club till the end of the season.
