A sought-after striker target has made his intentions clear over the rumours linking him to Arsenal.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he is going nowhere this winter and is hopeful of staying put at the German club. They are eight points behind league leaders Bayern Munich and his goals have been instrumental in helping them improve on their last season’s shaky performance.
Aubameyang has scored 24 goals in 23 games is season which seems to be the major motivation behind Arsenal’s reported interest. Various speculations suggest that the Gunners placed a £44million bid for the player. However, he is unwilling to leave in a hurry.
‘I don’t want to go to Arsenal,’ Aubameyang said in The Sun. ‘I won’t leave Dortmund soon.
This may come as a blow to the Arsenal fans but there is no cause for alarm since Dortmund have a knack for selling their top stars, and are bullish over their ability to replace them with lesser known names.
The likes of Mario Gotze and Lewandowski were once caught hitting and kissing the badge but still moved on for pastures green.
Bayern Munich have dominated the Bundesliga and it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old will be happy to remain uncompetitive for the rest of his career. Reports suggest that the Dortmund eggheads are willing to let him leave for a fee in the region of £60million.
