Arsenal have been handed an advantage ahead of premier League rivals in the pursuit of Highly-rated youngster.
According to reports, Kelechi Nwakali has stated his intent to play for the Gunners.
The Nigeria Under-17 captain is widely scouted by top clubs in Europe, with Manchester City and Chelsea reportedly at loggerheads to secure his signatures. However, he says he wants to play for the Gunners because of their game style.
“I would love to play for Arsenal,’ he told the Mtnfootball.com.
“They are their Premier League club
I will like to play for them because they play the best football in the world.”
It is quite understandable why he prefers a move to North London, since the Nigerian team played one of the best football in the Under-17 World Cup tournament, where they were applauded for their free-flowing and attacking style-of-play and will like to continue in such stead.
The attacking midfielder who won the MVP award at the recently concluded Under-17 World Cup was widely speculated to have joined his brother, Chidiebere, at Manchester City but it appears he was only there for trials.
It is left to be seen if the club will take advantage of the situation to recruit the player.
Tottenham have long grabbed Victor Osimhen, who was the highest goal scorer at the tournament.
