Arsenal keen on Roma’s Kostas Manolas

The transfer season is still far off, yet the number of players linked to the Arsenal keeps increasing by the day.

According to the Sunday People via the Mirror, it is reported that Arsene Wenger may be looking to bolster his defence. The reports have it that Wenger considers going for Roma’s star defender, Kostas Manolas.

Arsenal were heavily linked with the player in July, where it was reported that the club made enquiries pertaining his availability from his agent, Mino Raiola.

The 24-year-old who joined Roma last season has cemented his place in the team due to his solid performances.

If Arsenal are to sign the player, we will have to cough out within the region of £20m – or slightly more if Tottenham refuses to keep their cool. Spurs are also reported to be interested in signing the player but stand no chance due to the lack of Champions League football.

I think Arsene should go for the player because he can play both centre-back and the left-back positions. He is quite young and could understudy Laurent Koscielny or Per Metersacker who are in their 30’s.
